Herland has been serving the women's community since 1983 and has been incorporated as a 501(c)3 since 1985. We provide resources to strengthen, enrich, and support women, and to promote a world free of prejudice, oppression and exploitation. All who support our mission are welcome.
Herland is a nonprofit organization operated entirely by volunteers. We publish a newsletter and host a wide array of social and educational activities and services in support of the women's community of Oklahoma.
We are located at:
Herland Sister Resources
2312 NW 39th St
Oklahoma City, OK 73112
Herland is entirely run by volunteers. 100%. No paid staff. That means there are always lots of opportunities for new people to get involved, make a difference, and make new friends along the way. Volunteers are always needed, welcomed, and appreciated. Speak with any board member about becoming a volunteer or member.
Our basic services are holding events (speakers, supper clubs, poetry nights, retreats at state parks, pride picnic, and others), making our space available to community organizations, and co-sponsoring events with other organizations. We maintain a physical building where we host most of our events. We rely on volunteers to make all of this happen.
At Herland we’re all about making a difference in the lives of womyn and the LGBT community and it’s all thanks to the support and feedback from people like you! If you’d like to benefit from volunteering (either one time or ongoing) with our community, you can simply fill out the contact form above and we will get you hooked up!
